Getting to the Fiji Islands

ALTHOUGH Fiji Islands is located in the heart of the South Pacific Ocean, getting to Fiji is easy, with many international flights arriving and departing from the Nadi Airport. From the USA and Canada, the main route is via Los Angeles, with direct, non-stop flights from LA to Fiji. When you fly from the States to Fiji, you will cross the International Dateline just before reaching the islands. This means that you will 'lose a day' ! However, never fear as when you fly back to LA, you gain a day, arriving in USA earlier in the same day that you left the islands! It is important when booking your vacation in Fiji that you remember the date change, although most resorts and hotels will be aware of the day your flight lands in Nadi.

The approximate flight time between LA and Nadi is 10 hrs. This varies depending on wind direction.
